Sidney Sheldon (author)

Every book enthusiast has her favorite author and I present to you my fiction God, the master of the masters when it comes to writing mystery novels: SIDNEY SHELDON. (*applause*)

I've read almost all of the books of Sheldon and most, if not all of them are brain-teasing. His works are so distinct from others, fast-paced and is never predictable. Every novel features high intellect and very exciting chapters.

The last book i've read is Tell Me Your Dreams and this is one of the best works of Sidney. This is a story of three women named Ashley Patterson, Toni Prescott and Alette Peters who happens to share one thing in common. Read to find out what the shocking twist is :)

But my all-time favorite book by the master storytelller is the Stars Shine Down. It is about a woman named Lara Cameron who faced a lot of obstacles in order for her to achieve the success as a real estate developer.

I love this book more than the others because it touched me the most. I'm a big dreamer and Lara Cameron's wit and intellect inspired me, and makes me live with the fact that girls could also rule the male-dominating world -the business world. I wanna be just like her!

I don't have to make a list of recommended books by Sidney because ALL of them are promising. So I tell you, the next time you hunt for a thrilling and exciting book to indulge with on a boring uneventful summer day, grab a Sheldon!

Just in case you're too lazy to search for them, I made a list of all of his books:

·  The Naked Face (1970)
·  Bloodline (1977)
·  Rage of Angels (1980)
·  Master of the Game (1982)
·  If Tomorrow Comes (1985)
·  The Sands of Time (1988)
·  Memories of Midnight (1990)
·  The Stars Shine Down (1992)
·  Nothing Lasts Forever (1994)
·  The Best Laid Plans (1997)
·  Tell Me Your Dreams (1998)

Also don't miss out his autobigraphy The Other Side of Me which is a must-read for big dreamers who wants to hear loads of inspirational stories. :)

The Timekeeper (Book)

I'm completely blown away.

At first, the story may seem slow, but when things are slowly being revealed at the end, I got super ultimate goosebumps!

Mitch Albom never failed me. It's implausible how uniquely he views life. I learned so much about this book - things that I haven't realized or seem to forgot, and I am so thankful to have understand and be reminded of them now.

The story is about Father Time, who lived an eternity - almost - and his life journey. Almost, until he finished his mission on two random people - Sara and Victor - who'd been facing 2 different problems.

This book made me realize a lot of things:

  • We get to ponder of the things we had been taking for granted
  • We didn't notice the things that really mattered because we're so preoccupied with other unnecessary thoughts. We can't see the people who really love us, because we're too busy begging for love and acceptance from the wrong people.
  • Some people, despite their unfortunate circumstances, they were going on with life, getting through it as best as they could. We didn't see how lucky we are.
  • Make the most of our time
  • Be thankful of the time that was given to us. Everything happens for a reason. And sometimes the end with our journey with life has a reason. Maybe it's for the best.
  • With endless time, nothing is special. With no loss or sacrifice, we can't appreciate what we have. There is a reason God limits our days. That is to make each one of it precious.
  • The simple joy of living between sunrises was gone.
These are just some of the lessons I learned in that little book but it actually changed my perspective in life right now, BIG TIME. I am so grateful to you Mr. Albom! I will definitely include you in my prayers, you to live a happy and healthy life so you could inspire more people. I JUST LOVE YOU. :)

Divergent (book)

I just finished the best-selling book Divergent, and man was it spine-tingling!

It was one of the best books I've ever read. It was so creative and relatable and I admire Veronica's mind for her vast imagination. Whenever I read it, I am in complete oblivion of the world around me.

It is a story about a utopian community that has 5 factions. When a person reach the age of 16, he/she has to choose a faction in which they would be a part of for the rest of their lives, otherwise, they'll become factionless (they're like the homeless in real life, but worse, because they're really not part of the society). It's kind of ridiculous because their motto is "Faction before blood.", meaning once they chose a different faction from their family, most likely they weren't accepted by them anymore. It's ridiculous, yet fascinating. You'll think, "what does it feel  like to choose a different family where you actually belong, and not your own blood?"

There are 5 factions one could be a part of:

1. Dauntless - The Brave
This faction are not just brave. They're crazy brave. Brutal I think. They're so wild and it's like they live their everyday lives with adrenaline. It's a life filled with excitement. If I were to choose a faction, i'd pick dauntless though. :) They're role in society are the army, and the likes.

2. Erudite - The Intelligent
These people are, well, smart, informative and sometimes evil. They're worst enemies with Abnegation. Their role in society are scientists, teachers and the likes.

3. Abnegation - The Selfless
These people doesn't like vanity and self satisfaction. They always put other people first and they live a beautiful peaceful life. They're roles are government leaders and the likes.

4. Candor - The Honest
Candor's are cute because they literally never tell a lie and they tell it to your face whatever it is they're thinking and they could tell whether you are lying or not. They don't keep secrets.

5. Amity - The Peaceful
     Amity are the peaceful faction.

Yes there are 5, but there is another faction that also exists, yet, it seemed like it wasn't suppose to exist, it is dangerous for you if you are a part of it and if the leaders of the factions found out about it. These people are the Divergent. It wasn't revealed yet in the book why they are not to be named, and my guess is it will be told in the second book so, let's read that!

Tris is the name of the main character and she chose Dauntless, instead of Abnegation-the faction she was born with. But she is actually a Divergent. And the adventure begun! Just read it you know! I won't spoil it for you!

Fault in Our Stars (book)

This book is a story about two cancer sick patients named Hazel Lancaster and Augustus Waters who fell in love with each other. They met at a support group and their exciting love story started with a very mysterious book. It's light, witty, romantic and sad and happy. I'm not spoiling!

It's a cliche but this cancer story book made me cry hard. Maybe because only a few people could find true love, and these two people found it in each other. Why is there always a catch? Can't we have it all? LOL. But on the other hand, I thought that maybe if they didn't have cancer, they wouldn't have met, and maybe that's their consolation.

Well, I love how John Green explained his thoughts through this book. You could actually say he overthink things. LOL. He's too romantic and cheesy and geeky, which is cute. This made him different from all the other authors. I love John Green. ❤ Read it! :)

Bride For Rent (movie)

Isn't it amazing?!?! Isn't it surprising!?!?

Gosh!!! For your information, I'm a big fanatic of KimXi!! I am not the type who goes gaga for romantic movies and love thingy but they really make me feel alive with KILIG!

It's story is about a guy named Roco who set up an audition to act as his fake wife, so he could get his trust funds. Raquelita Dela Cruz, a.k.a. Rocky is the one who was hired of the job and their fake-real love story begins!

The movie is really light and cute. It's intended to make people laugh hard and make people believe that love is real and it could last forever.

Kim is a natural and Xian is oh-so-hot and charming. I really love their tandem because I could feel something awkward and the attraction. I sooooo love them!!! If Kim and Xian would break up, I'll never believe in love anymore. Chos!

Watch Roco and Rocky in Bride For Rent  NOW SHOWING IN CINEMAS WORLDWIDE!!!
